It is fascinating to think of the billions of periodical cicada lying dormant underground for up to 17 years only to emerge, sing, molt, and mate for a mere couple of weeks. It brings to question what else is there, unseen, waiting for its time to surface. This Creep Worm burrowed into a pine tree long ago as a benign larva only taking what little the tree had to offer. Here, it is feeling its way into a new world, in a new skin and a new self, creeping towards life and death.
